Pro Chico State

• Recording Arts Major!!
• a good 3+ hours away from home
• has Music Education option 
• nice neighborhood/community
• seems like a quaint town

Con Chico State

• far-ish from Davis
• driving home would be costly
• party school
• would have to learn how to bike
• would have to buy a bike 

Pro/Con of CSU, Sacramento

So I just submitted my application to California State University, Sacramento.  ($55 out of my pocket.  ]=)  Anyways, here was my thought process of applying to Sac State.

Pro Sac State

• near Davis, Ca
• has a good marching band
• good music program
• Music Education major available!!
• I know a few people attending
• a good hour away from home
• cheaper than a UC

Con Sac State

• Not UC Davis 
• a good hour close to home
• does not have a Recording Arts option
• not a visually appealing school (in my opinion)
• seems a bit too crowded (I hate crowds)
• because of crowds, I assume its a dirty-ish campus 

Transferring Schools

So I'm a community college student. I am co-enrolled in two different schools to finish my transfer requirements in two years while most cc students stay in their school for 3-4+ years before transferring.

I have been working my butt off. Next semester I have enrolled/ planned to enroll in over 21 units. I am insane. Not only that, but I need to find a job to save up for school. Something tells me this isn't going to be easy.

Here's my cover of Jessie J's song "Price Tag." It's normally a upbeat song, but I thought I'd do a slower and an acoustic interpretation of the song. There's not much difference vocally, but guitar is very simple.

Let's talk Music Theory

I'm proud to say that I'm passing my music theory class! Not only that - I am one of the top students. There are 37 students in my class and only 5 of us got a 100% or more. About 12 students are going to drop after the midterm... But I'm still happy!

Just got back from Field Show Night

Field show night is when the two high school bands from Ceres, CA perform for their town.  CVHS and CHS have been working their butt off this past season.  They compete in two different circuits:  CVHS competes in the NCBA while CHS competes in WBA. 

Anyways, they both performed really well tonight.  I'm excited to see the arts and the marching band program in Ceres still going strong.  The kids sound great - better than ever before - and this gets me excited.  I want to see the music program grow over time.  I've only just graduated in 2010 from high school, but from this past year and a half, I can see so much growth.  It's great!
